Awesome day for panda bears

Today the girls and I went to Church and the girls had a good time.  Well, I think Piglet had a good time. They said she stood in one place in the room for about 20 minutes checking the area out then she was okay venturing around the room. Pooh had a blast! She has been asking to go to Church for quite a few weeks, but we have not been able to go since because of the weather and also Pooh has been sleeping later than usual.
Afterwards, Piglet took a nice long nap. She feel asleep on the way home, so it was easy peasey to put her down for a nap.
Pooh had a bowl of cereal while I cut out a ton of stuff for a lap book on Giant Pandas.
We got some information  from the internet, but most of it we got from this book

We got the printable for the lap book from www.homeschoolshare.com and we actually completed it in the time Piglet had her nap today.

Pooh had so much fun writing all of the answers in the lap book and she had fun pasting and taping everything down.
Tomorrow (Monday): Read the panda book again.
Tuesday: practice spelling some vocab words from the lap book
Wednesday: watch some panda videos on Youtube
Thursday: do copy work from the lap book
Friday: Have her write or dictate what she knows about Panda Bears
Saturday: Pick a new topic for next week.
In addition to all of that, I plan on doing 3 lessons with her from her Horizons K Math book.

I think next week we will focus on the phases of the moon and the solar system. I found a few awesome lesson plans and interactive presentations on www.curiki.org and I have also printed out a bunch of kindergarten level worksheets from www.lessonpage.com which she enjoys doing.
I purchased some books from Barnes and Nobles from the workbook section, but I want to finish the stuff I have printed out before I start using other stuff!
Anyhow….
It is about time to get Piglet for bed and hopefully get some house work done.
Untill next time!

  1. The panda lapbook/unit sounds fun. Perhaps you could do a 'virtual tour' through China so they can see where panadas live in the wild.

    1. That is a great idea! I will have to see what I can find on the internet for that. Thanks for the suggestion!
